COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The driver behind the wheel of a pick-up that struck and killed a Grove City couple, killing them, in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury Thursday.

It happened around 1:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day at the intersection of Alkire and Norton Roads near Bolton Field.

The couple, Keith Klatt, 56, and his wife, Joellen, 53, had been involved in a traffic accident, and their car was disabled in the middle of the intersection. The Klatts were out of their car when the pick-up hit their car hard enough to set off the airbags in the pick-up, pushing the car out of the intersection. The Klatts were hit and killed.

Court records show that Joseph Moore of Galloway was indicted by a grand jury Thursday for two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, two counts of aggravated vehicular assault, and two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence.

An arraignment date was not immediately listed on the court docket.

According to the couple’s obituary, Keith Klatt was in the insurance business, and Joellen, who went by Joey, worked at Chase Bank. They left behind two adult sons and were expecting a grandchild.
