SEATTLE — Two brothers were arrested following two separate high-speed chases that spanned across King County and involved multiple law enforcement agencies on Wednesday.

The first incident began around 8:20 p.m. when a Washington State Patrol trooper tried to stop a car for improper merging on westbound I-90 near Preston.

The driver, identified by the WSP as 21-year-old Victor A. Hernandez-Paredes, refused to stop, prompting a pursuit. Despite a Pursuit Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, the chase continued until the car stopped on an eastbound I-90 ramp.

During the pursuit, a silver Infiniti G37 repeatedly interfered with the trooper.

The car driven by Victor Hernandez-Paredes eventually lost a tire and spun out on an offramp, facing the wrong way.

The Infiniti, driven by his brother, 18-year-old Daniel O. Hernandez-Paredes, sped off westbound on I-90. Victor’s vehicle ended up in a ditch, and he was taken into custody.

Authorities discovered a female passenger holding a child on her lap in the front seat, but no injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, troopers, aided by Department of Transportation cameras, located the Infiniti on westbound I-90 near Bellevue. A pursuit ensued into Seattle, where the car exited to southbound Rainier Avenue.

The King County Sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter tracked the vehicle until it stopped near Swift and Albro. Seattle Police Department officers assisted in arresting Daniel Hernandez-Paredes and his passenger.

Victor A. Hernandez-Paredes was booked into King County Jail for investigation of felony eluding, reckless endangerment, obstruction, and DUI. Daniel O. Hernandez-Paredes faces charges of felony eluding, reckless driving, and obstruction.
