COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — ABC 6/FOX 28 is proud to announce veteran journalist and seven-time Emmy Award winner Jessica Ralston has been named full-time evening anchor for ABC 6 News at 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00 p.m., as well as FOX 28 News at 10:00 p.m.
Ralston joins coanchors Mike McCarthy and Rodney Dunigan on the evening desk, further strengthening the station’s commitment to delivering trusted, impactful news coverage to Central Ohio.
Ralston has been a respected and familiar presence in the Central Ohio news landscape for years as the morning anchor of Good Day Columbus over the past nine years. With more than 20 Emmy nominations and a total of 37 awards from the Associated Press, Broadcasters Association, and the Society of Professional Journalists, her work has been recognized for excellence in categories including Best Anchor, Breaking News, Team Coverage, and Best Newscast. She also has earned multiple distinctions such as “Broadcast Journalist of the Year,” “Best Anchor,” and “Best Breaking News Coverage.”
In addition to her numerous professional accolades, Ralston was named one of the “Top 3 Anchorwomen” by The Columbus Dispatch readers in 2019 and earned the title of “Top TV News Anchorwoman” in 2020.
