Houston – Gabriela Gerhart, founder and president of The Motherhood Center, returned to Studio B to celebrate a major milestone: 25 years of supporting moms, dads, and growing families in the Houston area. What began as a dream inspired by Gabriela’s experience as a baby nurse and her upbringing in a small village in Czechoslovakia has grown into a beloved hub often referred to as a “mommy country club.”
From childbirth education and lactation consultations to massage therapy and fitness classes for moms and babies, The Motherhood Center has become a trusted resource for more than 50,000 families over the past two and a half decades. Gabriela shared how the center is designed to “recreate the village” she saw back home—offering support, community, and essential services all under one roof.
During the show, Derrick and Tessa had fun (and gained new appreciation for moms!) by trying out the 30-pound Empathy Belly, a medically accurate pregnancy simulator that mimics common third-trimester symptoms. From struggling to tie shoes to feeling the full-body impact of carrying extra weight, the challenge highlighted just how much expecting mothers experience on a daily basis.
To mark its 25th anniversary, Motherhood Center Day will officially be recognized in the City of Houston on May 15. The center will host special celebrations and offer discounts on select services and products, including massages, yoga passes, and parenting classes.
