Houston, Texas – After months of searching for the perfect new voice to join the Rod Ryan Show on 94.5 The Buzz, the team landed on a familiar and beloved Houston radio personality – Monica “Mo” Lunsford.

The news recently broke that Mo, best known for her time on The Morning Bullpen with George, Mo and Erik on 100.3 The Bull, will officially join The Rod Ryan Show as its new co-host. Fans who’ve followed her career are celebrating her return to Houston airwaves.

Mo opened up about what this next chapter means to her and how the opportunity came together. “You just don’t really know what’s going to happen, and neither did we, honestly” she said. “Am I moving? Do I want to stay in town? Do I want to stay in radio? What do I want to do? You’re talking to everyone, you’re loving on everyone, and then it just happens, I got very lucky.”

When asked about what she’s most excited about in this new chapter, Mo said: “Rod’s a legend in the radio world, I’m excited to learn some things from him, and kind of maybe push his limits, how I am as a person,”

When asked what advice she has for people who’ve been let go unexpectedly, Mo kept it simple: “You really just have to trust in the process, know that you’ve laid a foundation, you’re a good human, you’ve worked really hard at what you’ve done and you did nothing wrong, it was just not the right time, so something else is going to come around, you have to stay strong and you have to believe in yourself.”

What’s Next for Mo and The Buzz?

Listeners can look forward to seeing Mo out and about at big upcoming station events, including:

Buzzfest at The Woodlands Pavilion on May 24, 2025, featuring Chevelle, Marilyn Manson, Blue October, Evans Blue, P.O.D., and Sleep Theory.

Ditch Day at Cactus Cove on June 13, where fans can hang with the show team and celebrate summer the Houston way.

Welcome back, Mo—we’ve missed you.
