Jamie Rorie, 33, was arrested and charged with murder of brother Garry Hinson.

WADESBORO, N.C. — A suspicious odor led neighbors to discover the body of Garry Hinson in his home in Wadesboro, says Anson County Sheriff’s Office.

Hinson’s brother, Jamie Rorie, 33, was arrested, charged with murder and is being held at Anson County Jail without bond.

Hinson was last seen on Saturday, April 26. His body was found by neighbors on Friday, May 2. An autopsy by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner found Hinson died of a gunshot wound. Rorie was arrested on Thursday, May 8.

Rorie’s court date is scheduled for May 20.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information can contact the sheriff’s office at (704) 694-4188.
