The Charlotte Checkers will host the Hershey Bears in playoff games this Friday and Saturday at Bojangles Coliseum.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Checkers have announced tickets for their Round 3 home playoff games at Bojangles Coliseum are now available for purchase. The Atlantic Division Final series against the Hershey Bears kicks off with Games 1 and 2 in Charlotte this Friday and Saturday. Both games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Fans can secure their tickets online at charlottecheckers.com or by contacting a sales representative at (704) 342-4423.

The Checkers, who received a first-round bye, advanced to Round 2 by triumphing over the Providence Bruins in a thrilling best-of-five series, clinching the victory 3-2 this past Sunday. Following this weekend’s home games, the series will shift to Hershey for the remainder of the best-of-five series. Game 3 is set for Wednesday, May 21, with potential Games 4 and 5 on Thursday, May 22, and Saturday, May 24, respectively, if necessary.

“Well, obviously the crowd is important,” Checkers coach Geordie Kinnear said. “You look at any home team: it’s a building, it’s a crowd, and we want to make sure they’re behind us. Momentum can go up and down in playoffs quite a bit, so we want to make sure that we get our crowd involved and make them proud too with how we play.”

The Checkers finished the regular season with a 44-22 record, the second-best in the Atlantic Division. At home, Charlotte went 21-13 and has felt the positive effects from the home crowd all season.

“On the bench, we bring a lot of energy and we get an extra boost from the crowd,” Checkers right wing Will Lockwood said. “This year has been even better than last year. People have been really showing up, and now that it’s playoff time, there’s a little buzz around Charlotte. It should be a fun one.”
