Angel Reese wasn’t letting anyone attempt to re-stir the pot regarding the perceived rivalry between herself and Fever star Caitlin Clark.
The Chicago Sky star quickly shut down a question during a press conference on Monday when one reporter attempted to bring up comments Reese made last year that took issue with the idea that Clark was the only reason for increased attention on the WNBA.
As the media member started to paraphrase her quote, Reese quickly jumped in to cut the person off.
“Next question,” Reese interjected.
A Sky PR staffer also moved quickly to keep the press conference going.
“Yeah, we’ll move on. Thank you,” they said.

The attention on Clark certainly led to a massive increase in attention for the WNBA, but the notion didn’t sit well with everyone around the league.
Reese initially made the comments during a media session last June, following a contentious game between the Fever and Sky.

“I’ll look back in 20 years and be like, the reason why we’re watching women’s basketball is not just because of one person,” Reese said. ‘It’s because of me, too. I want ya’ll to realize that. Like it’s not just because of one person. A lot of us have done so much for this game. … There are so many great players in this league that have deserved this for a really long time, and luckily it’s coming now.”
The rivalry between Clark and Reese is one storyline that lasted nearly all of last season, and it’s one that the league wasn’t shy about leaning into.
They don’t seem to be shying away from it this year either, with the Sky and Fever opening their regular season schedule against one another on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
