Sugarland, Texas – CALLING ALL MUSIC LOVERS! If your playlist features everything from classic Tejano to Bollywood flair, the Sweet Beats International Festival might just be your dream weekend. Happening May 17–18 at The Crown Festival Park in Sugar Land, this global music celebration offers two days of vibrant performances, cultural fusion, and family fun.

“This is the second annual Sweet Beats Music Festival,” said Jordan Cutler, Senior Marketing Manager at Visit Sugar Land. “We did it last year as a family-friendly festival. We’re back this year to really highlight Sugar Land’s culture… pulling in art, food, and different cultural components that speak to the diversity we have in this city.”

Located in one of the most diverse counties in the U.S., the festival promises a sonic journey through genres including country, Afro beats, Tejano, and Bollywood—an experience as diverse as Houston itself.

Among the featured performers is Hamza Amir, a local artist leading what’s known as the most diverse live Bollywood, Indian, and Pakistani band in the U.S. “There’s going to be a crowd not just from our community, but mostly actually not from our community,” Amir shared. “So we’ve prepared a special Sufi set just for this festival. There’s going to be a lot of dancing, romantic Bollywood music… don’t wear a tuxedo!”

The festival is as much about community as it is about music. “Most of the musicians in our band aren’t even South Asian,” Amir explained. “It’s really a fusion. I tell them, ‘I want to hear how you would play this song—bring your flavor, and let’s fuse it.’”

🎤 Festival Highlights Include:

Live Performances Across Two Stages (Main & Community Stage)

Food & Culinary Village featuring global flavors

Cultural Installations & Vendor Marketplace

Appearances from local artists like Mexican OT

🎶 Event Details:📍 The Crown Festival Park, Sugar Land📅 May 17–18🕑 Gates open at 2 p.m. | Music until 10 p.m.🎟️ Tickets start at $29👶 Kids 12 & under enter free🌟 VIP packages available for enhanced access

“This is a great way for Houston to get out there and experience Bollywood, maybe for the first time,” said Cutler. “Or to explore Tejano, or even country music, in a whole new way.”

Whether you’re a die-hard fan of global beats or just looking for a fun cultural experience, Sweet Beats is set to be a high-energy, family-friendly weekend you won’t want to miss.
