Bill Belichick can ‘shut everyone up’ with one thing: Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski appears to have the solution to all of the Bill Belichick drama.

Gronkowski, the ex-Patriots tight end, told People that he is “getting sick” of all of the discourse around his former coach’s relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, and he knows what Belichick can do to quiet the critics.

“Bill has to produce and I’m going to be tuning in and I want to see him win some games,” Gronkowski, 36, told People while on the red carpet at the YouTube Brandcast 2025 on Wednesday. “Because if he wins some games, he’ll shut everyone up. And that would be fun to see, man.”

The former longtime Patriots tight end is referring to Belichick leading the North Carolina football program to a successful season during his first year as head coach of the team.

Gronkowski’s comments are not the first he has made about the couple, saying on Monday that the relationship could be a “distraction” during Belichick’s first year as a college coach.

“You know, and in the back of your head, too, you’re just thinking to yourself as well, ‘When you were on the Patriots, the whole goal was to eliminate all the distractions that can possibly happen while you’re on the team,’” Gronkowski said in an interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub.

“And don’t bring those distractions to the team and in the locker room, and we’re just looking down at the program in North Carolina and it feels like there are just distractions 24/7 down there,” he added. “There’s no football talk as well.”

Multiple stars around the NFL have sounded off on Belichick and Hudson’s relationship, with former quarterback Cam Newton seconding Gronkowski’s distraction comments.

“I find it extremely interesting for a person who always led with this: ‘Do not be a distraction,’” Newton said this week. “We talking more about Jordon Hudson than talking about who’s our starting quarterback. You can’t name me three players on North Carolina’s roster right now besides Jordon Hudson.

“Now you have that same situation with a 16-year-old that you’re trying to recruit. And you got to talk to his momma? This ain’t a good look.”

Newton spent the 2020 NFL season in New England and was coached by Belichick, where he was ultimately benched for rookie Mac Jones.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Belichick cleared the air about Hudson’s role with the Tar Heels, saying she “doesn’t have anything to do with UNC football.”

University of North Carolina also made clear that Hudson is not directly involved with the school.

“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University,” North Carolina Athletics previously told The Post in a statement.
