The Red Sox have promoted outfield prospect Jhostynxon Garcia — also known by his popular nickname as “The Password” — to Triple-A Worcester, according to a source.

Beyond the Monster’s Andrew Parker was the first to report it.

He’s expected to join the WooSox when they return home to Polar Park on Tuesday for a six-game series against Durham.

Baseball America ranks Garcia Boston’s No. 8 prospect. MassLive listed him No. 10 on its 2025 preseason Top 25 Red Sox prospect list.

He’s on Boston’s 40-man roster. The Red Sox added him to it last November to protect him from being available to other teams in the 2024 Rule 5 Draft.

The 22-year-old Venezuela native batted .256 with a .355 on-base percentage, .393 slugging percentage, .748 OPS, three homers, five doubles, one triple, 17 RBIs, 19 runs, 18 walks and 29 strikeouts in 33 games (138 plate appearances) at Double-A Portland to begin this season.

Garcia enjoyed a breakout season in 2024. He batted .286 with a .356 on-base percentage, .536 slugging percentage, .892 OPS, 23 homers, 24 doubles, five triples, 66 RBIs, 78 runs, 17 steals, 33 walks and 99 strikeouts in 107 games (459 plate appearances) combined between Low-A Salem, High-A Greenville and Portland.

Garcia told MassLive during spring training that his goal is to make the majors in late 2025.

“My goal is ultimately to have at least a couple games toward the end of the year in the big leagues,” Garcia said through translator Daveson Perez.
