York County Sheriff’s Office negotiated with a barricaded suspect in Clover home Monday.
CLOVER, S.C. — The York County Sheriff’s Office was in a standoff with a barricaded suspect in Clover for hours Monday afternoon.
Deputies, along with the law enforcement agency’s SWAT team, negotiated with a person barricaded inside a home off of Windsong Forest Road, according to officials.
“The incident is isolated to this one home,” the agency posted on social media. “There’s no danger to the public.”
Around 3:30 p.m., York County Sheriff’s Office announced the person was taken into custody.
“A 70-year-old woman allegedly fired five shots at her family members,” YCSO told WCNC Charlotte. “No one was hit or hurt. She barricaded herself in the home and refused to come out or talk with our negotiators.”
The standoff ended up lasting three-and-a-half hours in total. YCSO said its SWAT team entered the house after three hours or trying to get her to come out. She was taken into custody. Her name or potential charges have not been released.
Windsong Forest Road is located off of Lloyd White Road, also known as State Road S-46-148. The neighborhood sits along the state line between North Carolina and South Carolina.
