A man who was struck and killed in Lowell by a stolen car will be missed by his friends in the boxing and music industries, along with his colleagues at Hanscome Air Force Base in Lincoln, his obituary read.
On May 2, Gregory Leschishin, 69, was walking on Rogers Street in Lowell when prosecutors say 30-year-old Christopher Campbell drove a stolen car onto the sidewalk and struck the other man, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office previously confirmed.
Three days later, Leschishin died.
“He will be missed by his many co-workers at Hanscom [Air Force Base], his many colleagues in the amateur sport boxing world, friends in the rock ‘n’ roll music industry, and especially his ‘adopted daughters,’ his obituary read.
Leschishin is predeceased by his parents Zenon and Iris (née Chehowy) Leschishin. He is survived by his brothers Denis Leschishin of Duluth, Minnesota; Mark Leschishin of Wawa, Ontario, Canada; Taras Leschishin of Roslindale; and several cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and family friends.
Visitation will be held at Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home at 1803 Centre St. in West Roxbury on Friday, May 23, from 9 to 11 a.m. Leschishin’s funeral service will be at St. Theresa of Avila, at 2078 Centre St. in West Roxbury, at 11:30.
