Broncos’ preseason game vs. Arizona date and kickoff time

The Broncos‘ lone home preseason game has a date and kickoff time.

Denver’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals has been set for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Empower Field.

The club had previously announced it was playing Arizona at home on the second preseason week, but had not finalized a date and time until Tuesday. The game will be broadcast on 9News and also on NFL Network.

The Broncos are also hosting a joint practice with the Cardinals on Thursday, Aug. 14 ahead of the game. Denver has not yet released a full training camp schedule or a finalized plan for fan attendance at camp around the construction of the club’s new headquarters and training facility.

The joint practice will mark the third straight year under head coach Sean Payton and fourth straight overall that Denver’s hosted a team for joint practices. In 2023, the Los Angeles Rams came to town and last year Green Bay did. In 2022 under former coach Nathaniel Hackett, Denver hosted Dallas for joint practice.

The Thursday against Arizona won’t be the only joint practice of the summer for Denver, either. The Broncos are planning to do the same with San Francisco the week prior in the Bay Area before the preseason opener. That game does not yet have a set time and date.

Denver then closes the preseason at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at New Orleans.

Next up on the offseason schedule for Payton’s team: Two weeks of organized team activities running May 27-29 and June 3-5, then the club’s mandatory minicamp from June 10-12.
