Stabbing victim hospitalized after attack in Seattle apartment building
SEATTLE — A man was hospitalized after being stabbed in the neck at a Seattle apartment building Wednesday afternoon.
Seattle police said they received a call around 4:15 p.m. reporting a stabbing in the 5200 block of 15th Avenue NE.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, who had been stabbed in the neck, up and walking despite his injury. He was then taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said a witness claimed that a 32-year-old man stabbed an 18-year-old in the back of his neck in an acquaintance’s apartment.
Witnesses reported that the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading southbound.
“Over an hour later, a University of Washington Police Department unit spotted the suspect and kept him in sight while SPD units responded and took the suspect into custody,” wrote Seattle police in response to a KOMO News inquiry. “The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault. The SPD Homicide and Assault Unit will determine what led up to the stabbing.”
