Class A Quarterfinal: No. 8 West Springfield (0) at No. 1 Westfield (16)
In the quarterfinal round for the softball Class A tournament, Westfield came out on top with a big 16-0 victory over West Springfield.
For Westfield, the offense produced a strong performance, delivering 16 hits across the course of the game and giving up no errors. The two biggest offensive contributors were Jaylainie Santiago, and Shannon Wall who both delivered with 3 RBI’s. Home runs were also hit by Grace Trempe and Santaigo as well.
The pitching was just as dominant, as Shea Hurley threw 5 scoreless innings while only allowing one hit and striking out 13 batters. The lone hit for West Springfield was on a double from Morgan Peabody at the top of the lineup, who also stole two bases and was hit by a pitch. No. 1 ranked
Class A Quarterfinal: No. 5 Longmeadow (11) at No. 4 Springfield Central (7)
Longmeadow advanced to the Class A semifinal round with an 11-7 win over Springfield Central on Wednesday.
The Eagles jumped ahead early, scoring five runs on four hits in the bottom of the first inning, highlighted by Dalilah Wray’s two-run triple. Longmeadow answered quickly, tying the game in the second after Isabella Blue doubled down the left field line. The Lancers took control in the fourth inning, plating four runs behind a string of hits that included an RBI single from Livia Kelly, a two-run homer by Delaney Schrager, and an RBI single from Carly Metzler.
Blue played a key role both at the plate and in the circle. She led the team with three RBIs and pitched six innings in relief, allowing three unearned runs on three hits while striking out nine. Springfield Central’s Jai-lyn Garvin-Martin allowed 11 runs on 12 hits.
Longmeadow will face No. 8 West Springfield in the Class A semifinal round.
Class A Quarterfinal: No. 6 Minnechaug (4) at No. 3 Agawam (12)
No. 3 Agawam defeated No. 6 Minnechaug in the Class A quarterfinal on Wednesday by a final score of 12-4.
Avery Gordon starred for the Brownies, both on the mound and on the plate. As a pitcher, she allowed seven hits but just four runs, all of which came in different innings. While she prevented Minnechaug from building any momentum, she herself carried the pitching flow to her bat. Her 2-4 afternoon was highlighted with a team-high 3 RBIs, all of which came with one swing of the bat for a home run.
Offensively, Taylor Stairs and Madelyn Pajer also went a perfect 3-3.
With a spot in the finals at stake, they’ll face off against a hot East Longmeadow team that just defeated Northampton 7-1 in the other quarterfinal.
Class A Quarterfinal: No. 7 Northampton (1) at No. 2 East Longmeadow (7)
The No. 2 East Longmeadow softball team made easy work of No. 7 Northampton with a 7-1 victory in the quarterfinal round of the Class A tournament on Wednesday.
A 1-1 game was broken wide open in the bottom of the third inning when the Spartans put four runs on the board, adding two more later on in the sixth.
Emma Maurer and Angelina Leone put up identical stat lines for East Longmeadow, as each put 1-3 days at the plate with a run scored and a pair of RBIs. After surrendering a run in the opening half frame, Spartans pitcher Reilly McCaulley was lights out the rest of the way in the circle, striking out eight while allowing just five hits and one walk.
East Longmeadow will take on No. 3 Agawam in the semifinal round.
Class B Quarterfinal: No. 8 Pope Francis (0) at No. 1 Hampshire (14)
The No. 1 Hampshire softball team showed exactly why it’s the top-ranked team in this year’s Class B tournament by smashing its way to a 14-0 win over No. 8 Pope Francis in the quarterfinal round on Wednesday.
Ryanne Dubay led the way for Hampshire both in the circle and in the batter’s box. She surrendered just one base knock while striking out 11 hitters in five innings of work, and contributed to her own cause by driving in three runs with a pair of hits, including a double.
Kalin Dubay helped out her sister by crossing the plate three times as part of a 2-3 performance that featured a triple and three RBIs of her own.
As it moves onto the next round, Hampshire awaits the winner of No. 4 Taconic versus No. 5 Wahconah Regional.
Class B Quarterfinal: No. 5 Wahconah (3) at No. 4 Taconic (4)
Taconic made its way past Wahconah with a close 4-3 win on Wednesday in the Class B Quarterfinals.
Cheyanne Goddard, Nina Maloney, Madi Barber and Maddy Harington each drove in an RBI. Goddard went 2-for-2, also starting on the mound and pitching seven innings. She allowed just two earned runs on seven hits with a strikeout.
Wahconah will move on to take on No. 1 Hampshire Regional in the Class B Finals.
Class B Quarterfinal: No. 6 Pittsfield (3) at No. 3 South Hadley (6)
A strong first half sent South Hadley to a 6-3 win over Pittsfield on Wednesday during the Class B Quarterfinal.
The Tigers scored all six runs in the first four innings while the Generals scored their three runs in the sixth inning.
Isabella Schaeffer led in two RBIs, going 1-for-2 with two walks and a run. Karli Carmody, Sophia Butler and Natalia Quinn also each had an RBI. South Hadley will now take on No. 2 Pittsfield at a date and time TBD.
Class B Quarterfinal: No. 7 Monument Mountain (3) at No. 2 Frontier (8)
No. 2 Frontier defeated No. 7 Monument Mountain, 8-3, on Wednesday afternoon in the quarterfinal of the softball Class B tournament.
Scoring eight runs on eight hits, efficiency was the theme for the Frontier Red Hawks. It was a big day for Ashley Taylor, who went 2-3 on the plate with a double and an RBI. On the mount, Raina Wonsey struck out 11 batters, as she went the distance.
The Red Hawks will now face off against the winner of No.3 South Hadley and No.6 Pittsfield.
Class C Quarterfinal: No. 8 Springfield International (0) at No. 1 Greenfield (21)
Greenfield delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday, shutting out Springfield International 21-0 to advance to the Class C Semifinals.
The Green Wave showcased their depth, with 11 different players crossing the plate. Carson Farrell led the charge with four runs, while MacKenzie Paulin and Anna Bucala each added three. Bianca Reynolds, Madison Lemay, and Sarah McCloud chipped in with two runs apiece. Gloria McDonald powered the offense with a game-high five RBIs.
Paulin was equally dominant in the circle, striking out 13 batters. Greenfield will face the winner of No. 5 Drury vs. No. 4 McCann in the semifinal round.
Class C Quarterfinal: No. 5 Drury (2) at No. 4 McCann Tech (8)
McCann Tech’s offense sent it to a 8-2 win over Drury on Wednesday in the Western Mass Class C Quarterfinals.
After getting out to a 4-0 lead in the third inning, the Hornets continued to build onto their lead. Avery Lane delivered a strong pitching performance through seven innings. Lane allowed just one hit and two walks, striking out nine batters.
Paige Rochelo led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Addison Pause also led in two RBIs with a single.
McCann will move on to take on No. 1 Greenfield on Saturday, May 24 on the road at 4 p.m.
Class C Quarterfinal: No. 6 Mount Greylock (3) at No. 3 Franklin Tech (15)
Franklin Tech cruised to a dominant 15-3 victory over Mount Greylock on Wednesday in the Class C Quarterfinal.
After holding a 1-0 lead through two innings, Franklin Tech broke the game open in the third, erupting for eight runs. The offensive onslaught continued in the fourth, highlighted by three consecutive hits from Lindsey Taylor, Hannah Gilbert, and Kylee Gamache, capping off a six-run inning.
Mount Greylock’s lone highlight came in the top of the fifth, when Kaleigh Jaros launched a two-run homer with two outs. However, Franklin Tech’s Shelby O’Leary sealed the win with an unassisted putout to end the game.
Gilbert earned the win in the circle, tallying seven strikeouts. Franklin Tech will face the winner of No. 7 Pathfinder Tech and No. 2 Lenox in the semifinal round.
Class C Quarterfinal: No. 7 Pathfinder Tech (0) at No. 2 Lenox (18)

Class D Quarterfinal: No. 8 Ware (0) at No. 1 Turners Falls (16)
For Turners Falls Thunder softball, the offense and pitching shined as bright as a star. Not only did Turners Falls score 15 runs in the first four innings and all 16 in the first four innings, but Madison Liimatainen shined on the mound in a 16-0 victory against the Granby Rams.
On the offensive side, Granby scored three in the bottom of the first inning which was instantly followed up by a seven-run second and a five-run third. Ameliya Galbraith collected three RBIs on one hit, and both Janelle Massey and Mia Marigliano chipped in with two.
On the bump, Liimatainen only allowed two hits across five scoreless innings while striking out 11 batters. Liimatainen also didn’t walk any batters, controlling the zone and throwing strikes. The Thunder’s only hits came from Abigale McQuaid and Reese McKeever.
Class D Quarterfinal: No. 5 Lee (0) at No. 4 Monson (1)
Monson squeezed out a 1-0 win over Lee in the Western Mass Class D Quarterfinals on Wednesday.
The Mustangs grabbed the win late in the seventh inning on an Evie Renna RBI single. Pitcher Molly Szado went seven innings, allowing five hits, striking out nine batters.
Monson will take on the winner of No. 1 Turner Falls and No. 8 Ware on a date and time TBD.
Class D Quarterfinal: No. 6 Granby (2) at No. 3 Hopkins (7)
No. 6 ranked Hopkins collected an important 7-2 victory over No. 3 ranked Granby in the quarterfinal round of the Western Mass Class D tournament.
The Golden Hawks collected 12 hits over the course of the game, with Isabella Bramucci collecting three of them. She also got two doubles on three RBI’s, helping propel the Golden Hawks over the Rams. Other key contributors for Hopkins were Margaret Potter with two hits and an RBI, Cora White with two hits and an RBI, and Cassandra Dion who drove in a run on top of pitching 7 innings while striking out six.
While Granby produced seven hits with two of those going for extra bases, Granby struggled to get runs across. The one combined walk only two team RBI’s contributed to the tough defeat, as Meredith Bartosz also got knocked around on the mound allowing seven runs on 12 hits.
Class D Quarterfinal: No. 7 Pioneer Valley (1) at No. 2 Hoosac Valley (13)
Hoosac Valley took a big 13-1 win over Pioneer Valley on Wednesday in the Class D Quarterfinal.
The Hurricanes led in five runs to start the game in the first inning and continued to tack on runs. The Panthers had one run in the first inning but couldn’t find offense for the rest of the game.
Gianna Witek went 2-for-3, hitting an extra base hit and totaling three RBIs.
Pioneer Valley will now take on No. 5 St. Mary’s on a date and time TBD.
