Happy Thursday,

Thousands of sports enthusiasts are coming to Cowtown this weekend to see some of the globe’s top golf talent compete for the $1.7 million prize at the 79th Charles Schwab Challenge at the legendary Colonial Country Club.

The popular tournament launched in Fort Worth in 1946 as the Colonial National Invitational. The event has only grown since its inception, with this year estimated to have a $5.5 million economic impact on Fort Worth, according to my colleague Eric Garcia’s latest story.

Last year, 28-year-old Davis Riley secured the top prize at the tournament when he won by five strokes over fellow pros Keegan Bradley and hometown hero Scottie Scheffler. Which pro do you hope to see chip away at a championship this time around?

Also, do you have cherished memories of the tournament’s early years? How have you seen the competition evolve over its 79-year history? I would love to hear your stories. Please contact me at [email protected].
