SAN ANTONIO – As storms rolled through the larger portions of Bexar County and the Hill Country on Monday night, KSAT had crews out for most of the evening, capturing lightning and high-water events.

Storms began to roll into the San Antonio metro area around 7 p.m. on Monday, according to KSAT’s meteorologists.

Wind, rain and even hail were seen in parts of Bexar County and the Hill Country.

All of the videos below were captured during KSAT’s live coverage of the storms.

Cars drive through high water on West Side

On Tuesday morning, KSAT’s Devan Karp and photojournalist Alex Gamez reported from Highway 151 and Pinn Road, a known trouble spot for flooding.

At least one vehicle was stalled on the road, but drivers were seen passing through the high water.

Stranded driver rescued as Highway 90 access road floods

Elsewhere on Tuesday, KSAT’s Patty Santos and photojournalist Santiago Esparza reported from the access road of Highway 90 and Leon Creek after a high-water rescue and subsequent road closure.

San Antonio Fire Department crews rescued a stranded box truck driver as water poured over the road. Transguide cameras in the area showed the crews working around 6:15 a.m.

Hail in Fredericksburg

KSAT’s John Paul Barajas and photojournalist Ricardo Moreno captured dense hail falling in Fredericksburg on Monday evening.

Some KSAT Connect users there saw hail nearly the size of lemons. Other users shared images of hail the size of tennis balls and quarters.

High water in Helotes, San Antonio

As rain continued to fall across the Bexar County region on Monday, some cars were seen abandoned on area roadways.

A KSAT crew passing through Helotes found a car submerged in water. Shortly after, a crack of lightning across the sky was captured by the crew.
