Local rapper launches nonprofit to empower Jacksonville youth through arts

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville native and rapper Young Cash is celebrating more than just his birthday this year.

The artist is launching his new nonprofit, Community and Kids, Inc., aimed at uplifting Jacksonville’s youth through free access to the arts.

The nonprofit — often referred to by its acronym C&K, Inc. — plans to start with a centrally located facility to serve all neighborhoods. Eventually, Cash hopes to open centers on every side of town, offering safe spaces for children to explore music, painting, engineering, and other artistic passions.

Community and Kids, Inc. is also working with city officials on affordable housing projects, aiming to strengthen local communities while encouraging creativity and entrepreneurship among the next generation.

The launch coincides with the first annual Cash Bash, a music event curated by the rapper himself, featuring a Florida-heavy lineup with artists like Kodak Black, Plies, and Pleasure P. It also includes a showcase of emerging local talent.

“I think it’s just a better music scene overall in Jacksonville,” said Cash. “The cash bash, I’m bringing out some local artists that you know, that maybe wouldn’t get the spotlight, that they should. So I’m gonna put them on the big stage.”

Though his career has taken him around the world, Cash said Jacksonville will always be home — and now he’s investing back into it in a big way.

“I’ve seen other entertainers give back to their cities, and I always wanted to do the same. I just didn’t have the time before,” he said. “But now I do. And I’m all in for the kids.”
