A round of widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms is expected for Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
This could lead to some street flooding — especially in Western Massachusetts.
For the Cape and Islands, the area has a slight chance of showers until noon, but could otherwise be mostly cloudy throughout the day with a high near 65 degrees and a 60% chance of rain. Saturday night will be around 53 degrees and mostly cloudy.
Showers and thunderstorms are also likely for Boston before 2 p.m., with a high near 68 degrees during the day and an 80% chance of rain. Temperatures could drop to around 52 degrees by evening, with a 40% chance of rain.
Similarly, Worcester and Springfield will see showers and thunderstorms. By nighttime, the area will have lower temperatures at around 48 degrees and a lower (30%) chance of rain.
“We’re in the thick of the most advertised period of widespread rain showers with some elevated thunderstorms,” the National Weather Service said.
Greenfield has a 90% chance of rain, with showers and thunderstorms likely before 3 p.m.
Some of these storms could produce heavy rainfall. By Saturday evening, showers could lessen to 30% with a low of around 47 degrees.
Meanwhile, in the Berkshires, there is an 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms throughout the day with a high near 62 degrees. Evening temperatures will be a low of around 44 degrees with a 30% chance of rain.
