SAN ANTONIO – Thousands of students gathered from 41 San Antonio-area high schools on Thursday, May 1, for the Battle of Flowers Band Festival.
More than 4,400 students performed at the Alamo Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
The Battle of Flowers Band Parade was scheduled to finish at 10 p.m. However, organizers ended the festival early around 9:15 p.m. due to incoming storms.
KSAT will rebroadcast the festival from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, on KSAT 12, KSAT.com and KSAT Plus.

The 89th annual band festival is the oldest and longest-running marching band festival in the nation, according to the Battle of Flowers Association. The festival allows high school students to perform together and encourages their interest in music.
