CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A person has died after a car hit them Saturday night in southwest Charlotte.
Medic confirmed it happened around 9 p.m. along I-485 Outer near the exit to Steele Creek Road. The person, who hasn’t been identified as of publication, was declared dead at the scene.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said I-485 Outer near Exit 4 would be closed as officers investigate the incident. The DriveNC tool estimated the scene would clear closer to 11 p.m. at first, but a later estimate indicated the scene wouldn’t clear up until 1 a.m. Sunday.
Alternate routes were advised for drivers Saturday night.
