COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Central Ohio voters are making key decisions on a range of local issues, including libraries, police and fire services, and development, as they head to the polls for the primary election Tuesday.
Early voting wrapped up Sunday, with polls open Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In Marysville and Union County, the ballot includes a critical levy for Marysville Schools, which cut nearly 25 teachers after a levy defeat last fall. The district is seeking approval for a 5.5-mill levy over 10 years. Additionally, Marysville voters will consider two city charter amendments aimed at slowing development in the rapidly-growing city.
Franklin County voters will decide who advances in the City Council’s District 7 race, while in Delaware, the Delaware County District Library is requesting an additional one-mill tax for operating expenses.
State Issue 2 also will appear on ballots. The measure seeks to renew a bond program for infrastructure improvements, such as roads, bridges, and wastewater treatment. Despite discussions about state funding for a new Cleveland Browns stadium, supporters of Issue 2 emphasize that funds from a possible passage of this issue cannot be used for stadium construction.
Voters are reminded to locate their polling places by visiting the Ohio Secretary of State’s website, where they can enter their address to find the nearest location. A form of identification, such as a state ID or valid driver’s license, is required to vote.
