CHICAGO, Illinois (WSYX) — The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has unveiled the first-ever bobbleheads of Pope Leo XIV, marking a playful tribute to the newly elected pontiff. Born Robert Francis Prevost in Chicago, Pope Leo XIV made history as the first North American pope, elected on May 8, 2025.

Phil Sklar, co-founder and CEO of the museum, expressed excitement about the release. “We are thrilled to continue the tradition of bobbleheads celebrating the newest Pope with the unveiling of these bobbleheads featuring Pope Leo XIV,” Sklar said. “Bobbleheads are the perfect way to show off your admiration for a given person, and with the excitement surrounding the first Pope from North America, we know the Pope Leo XIV bobbleheads are going to be very popular!”

The limited edition bobbleheads capture two iconic moments: Pope Leo XIV’s introduction on the Vatican balcony and his signature smile. Each bobblehead is individually numbered and available exclusively through the museum’s online store for $30, plus shipping. They are expected to ship in November, and you can pre-order them here.

Pope Leo XIV, a Villanova University graduate, is the first pope from an English-speaking country since the 12th century and the first from the Order of Saint Augustine. Known for his missionary work in South America, he holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and Peru. His election follows a diverse conclave and is expected to continue the reforms initiated by Pope Francis.

For those still nostalgic for the previous pontiff, a limited number of Pope Francis bobbleheads are also available.
