Good Friday morning! We escaped yesterday without any storms popping up, but there is still a lot of potential energy for storms to pop off today. We lacked a trigger to get the storms to initiate on Thursday, but an approaching cold front will give us a better chance for the storms today. There is still a slight chance of rain this morning, breaking through the “cap” in the atmosphere, but the best chance of rain will be in the late afternoon and evening today. Temps for Central Ohio this morning are in the low-mid 70s. We will be partly cloudy, hot, and humid today with high temps around 86. The scattered storms later today will have a lot of fuel in the atmosphere, so damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes are possible. Stay weather aware and have a way of being notified if a severe storm occurs in your location. Today will be an Alert Day for the potential of severe storms later in the day, with a 70% chance of rain today. Tonight, a cold front will pass through the area and kick most of the rain out of here by daybreak on Saturday. We will drop to around 63 overnight tonight. Brisk winds out of the south today and tonight 10-20 mph.

Cooler this weekend, with temps near normal. We will warm to a high of around 73 on Saturday and Sunday. We will start off around 63 on Saturday morning, then dip into the mid-50s on Sunday morning. We will have a mix of sun & clouds on Saturday with a very slim chance of a lingering shower. It will be breezy on Saturday, with winds out of the west 10-20 mph and some gusts up to 30 mph. Lighter winds on Sunday, 10-15 mph, out of the northwest, with partly cloudy skies.

Next week starts dry, but then more rain is returning along with temps dipping even cooler. Monday will be mostly cloudy with a high around 71. We will start getting rain showers to return on Tuesday, thanks to an area of low pressure slowly passing over the region. We will have a 60% chance of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, with high temps in the upper 60s. The chance of rain drops to a 40% chance on Thursday, with a few lingering showers moving out, but a high temp of only around 63. The cooler-than-normal temps look like they will stick around heading into Memorial Day weekend. Have a good one!
