The Eagles opened their postseason play in dominant fashion, blanking the Lions at home.

Starting on the mound, Braeden Hurley struck out eight Newton North batters in the win.

At the plate, both William Shaheen and Connor Durney finished with two hits and one RBI. Shaheen also scored a run for Prep.

Also helping out offensively was Jimmy DiCarlo who registered a hit, a run, and an RBI in the victory.

Next, Prep will host No. 26 Wachusett.

Division III

No. 16 Apponequet (5), No. 17 Taconic (4)

No. 5 Bishop Stang (8), No. 28 Belchertown (0)

Belchertown’s season came to an end Sunday afternoon as they were shut out on the road by Bishop Stang.

The Orioles put together five hits in the loss but they came from just two players. Thatcher Rudnik delivered two from the No. 3 spot and Ian McDonald went 3-3 as the team’s cleanup hitter.

Next, Bishop Stang will play the winner of No. 12 Hanover, and No. 21 Holliston.

Division V

No. 16 Georgetown (3), No. 17 Lenox (1)

No. 5 Ware (10), No. 28 Easthampton (1)
