The Broncos swapped one tight end for another.

On Tuesday, Denver signed Caden Prieskorn and waived Cole Fotheringham with an injury designation.

Prieskorn, 25, is a rookie who went undrafted this spring. He started his college career at Memphis and then played the past two seasons at Ole Miss.

His most productive season in the receiving game came in 2022 for the Tigers when he caught 48 passes for 602 yards and seven touchdowns. In two years playing for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels, Prieskorn combined for 57 catches, 850 yards and seven touchdowns.

Prieskorn is listed at 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds. After the draft he signed as an undrafted free agent with Detroit, but the Lions waived him after the team’s rookie minicamp.

He essentially replaces Fotheringham on Denver’s roster. Fotheringham, 27, went undrafted in 2022 but spent two years with Las Vegas and also time last offseason with Houston.

Fotheringham was signed to the Broncos’ roster after trying out as a veteran player during the team’s rookie minicamp in mid-May. He was not in attendance Thursday, however, when reporters were allowed to watch Denver’s OTA practice last week.

The nature of his injury was not immediately clear.

Prieskorn joins a tight end room that also includes Evan Engram, Adam Trautman, Nate Adkins, Lucas Krull and seventh-round rookie Caleb Lohner.

Denver’s roster remains full at 91.
