The wait for Miro Heiskanen continues.
Even after a lopsided Game 2 loss, the Dallas Stars won’t have their top defenseman against the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday. Stars coach Pete DeBoer told reporters Saturday that Heiskanen would not suit up for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoff series.
The Daily No Miro Update: No Heiskanen for Game 3, Stars coach Pete DeBoer said. He’s back to day to day for Tuesday and Game 4.

After a strong start to the second-round series, the Stars ran out of steam and fell 4-0 in Game 2. They’ll return to American Airlines Center with the series tied at 1-1.
Heiskanen had knee surgery in February and hasn’t played since Jan. 28.
Before the Stars-Jets series began, DeBoer classified Heiskanen and forward Jason Robertson as “day-to-day.” Robertson (knee) has since returned, playing in both Games 1 and 2 of the series.
Heiskanen had 25 points in 50 games this regular season. The defenseman is still expected to return later this series.
