A Massachusetts police department is warning of a “suspicious” company going door-to-door asking to use the bathroom.

The door-to-door solicitor claims to work for a pest control company but the company isn’t registered in Grafton, where they’ve been soliciting, the Grafton Police Department said. They have also been asking to enter homes to “use the bathroom.”

“Asking to come into to use the bathroom at multiple residences seems a bit unusual and suspicious,” the police department warned. “DO NOT let them inside.”

As of Thursday morning, there were no current permits for pest control solicitors in the town. However, police said it is possible that they are working for a pest control company, but have not registered for the proper permits with the town.

Those with permits will have an official town-issued ID badge on their outer clothing.

“You are NOT required to answer the door,” police reminded residents.

Instead, Grafton police are asking residents to call them immediately at 508-839-5343 to report the sellers. You’ll be asked to provide a description and their direction of travel.
