Trysten Cullon joins Jade Stone in pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit cyberstalking.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit cyberstalking in a case that resulted in a victim’s death by suicide, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Between Sept. 5-8, 2024, Trysten Anthony Cullon, 26, and Jade Ashlynn Stone, 25, used a stolen phone to send text messages demanding money from a vulnerable victim with an intellectual disability and his family.
Cullon and Stone threatened to show the victim’s employer “derogatory and embarrassing information” if they were not paid, according to court documents.
The two were indicted December 2024 on extortion, cyberstalking and wire fraud by a federal grand jury.
Stone plead guilty earlier this year on April 10.
By pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit cyberstalking, Cullon and Stone face up to five years in prison.
The extortion caused the victim extreme emotional distress which resulted in his death.
