Based on updates posted online, along with family members’ comments, Sadie Haynes is at Wolfson Children’s Hospital after suffering a traumatic blow to the head and has not woken up yet.
The family asked to remain off the record, adding that they expect to speak to the public soon, but Sadie’s father told News4JAX that the road to recovery for his daughter will be a long one.
Her dad also tells News4JAX that he knows Sadie is a strong girl and her family is all hoping and praying for the best.
Additionally, two GoFundMe fundraisers have been posted for Sadie, with one of them stating, “She is currently being cared for in the PICU and is completely sedated and on a ventilator. There are many surgeries forthcoming and lots of work to get her back to normal. Her list of injuries is extensive, the most serious being broken tibia/fibula, pelvic fractures, eye socket/cheek fractures, kidney laceration, and skull fractures.”

The crash took place on April 30 around 8 p.m. while Haynes was crossing Eagle Harbor Parkway at the Town Center Boulevard intersection.
Troopers said she was in the marked pedestrian crossing, headed north across the intersection, when a vehicle headed west on Eagle Harbor Parkway rounded the curve and hit her.
According to reports, the 68-year-old woman who was driving the car could not see her as she was crossing. The driver was not injured.
