AUSTIN, Texas — As summer approaches, Alamo Drafthouse is making waves with its unique movie experiences. Bridget Garraway and Danielle Thomas with Alamo Drafthouse visited We Are Austin to share more about their exciting lineup of fun!
This summer, moviegoers can dive into the thrilling “Jaws on the Water” event, where the classic film “Jaws” is screened in an immersive setting on Lake Travis.
“Be brave. Presumably there are no sharks in Lake Travis, but who doesn’t like a bump and a scare?” said Thomas. Attendees will receive custom 50th anniversary tubes that are included the ticket price. The event also features great food and beverage options plus fun photo-ops.
“We do have divers that go under the tubers and mess with them so it is… pretty unforgettable,” Thomas added.
In addition to the aquatic adventure, Alamo Drafthouse is rolling out a lineup of movie parties and films to celebrate Mother’s Day.
You can catch a Mother’s Day classic like Mama Mia or more offbeat offerings like Hereditary and Wolf Children. Plus, Drafthouse’s mom merch is on sale. If you buy $75 or more in gift cards you can receive 20% off until May 9.
Upcoming Movie Parties include Hunger Games Catching Fire and the Britney Spears classic, Crossroads.
And for a bit of fun, the duo faced off in a little game, “Decode the Emojis: Summer Blockbusters Edition,” where they guessed film titles based on emoji clues.
