Another rookie from the 2025 Dallas Cowboys draft class put pen to paper on Monday.
A person familiar with the process confirmed to The Dallas Morning News former Texas running back Jaydon Blue, a fifth-round selection, signed a four-year contract with the Cowboys on Monday.
The deal will reportedly be worth $4.627 million, with a $427,068 signing bonus.
Blue, a Houston native, split time with DeSoto standout Quintrevion Wisner in the Longhorns backfield last season, putting up 730 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground. He was also a significant contributor in the passing game, racking up 368 yards and 6 touchdowns through the air.
His receiving abilities were a big part of Texas’ offense in the 2025 Cotton Bowl against Ohio State. In fact, his two touchdowns catches were the Longhorns’ only two scores that night against the eventual national champion Buckeyes.
Blue joins a crowded Cowboys backfield, which includes free agent signees Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. Hunter Luepke and Deuce Vaughn round out the depth chart.
The starter most likely will be determined in training camp. Blue has a nice opportunity to emerge in a possible rotation. Having played in Texas he learned plenty sitting behind Bijan Robinson (2023 first-round pick, No. 8 overall) and Jonathon Brooks (2024 second-round pick).
Defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku, a second round pick from Boston College, is the only unsigned rookie left for Dallas.
