The WCNC Weather Impact team is tracking a nice stretch of weather before the summer-like feels return and a growing chance for rain by the end of the week.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Tonight:
Partly cloudy and warm with lows in the mid-60s. There could be a few stray thunderstorms early; the chance of rain is 20-30%.
Friday:
Partly sunny with very isolated late day thunderstorm with the chance of rain at just 20-30%. Highs in the mid to upper 80s.
The recent change
Saturday has a higher chance of rain as a cold front has slowed down and will pass through our area on Saturday night. There will be no washout but scattered to isolated thunderstorms late in the day. The heaviest rainfall will hold off until after 10 pm. Make sure you have a place to seek shelter if lightning strikes near you until the storm passes.
Sunday is now expected to be more cloudy, but highs will still be in the low to mid-70s.
Pollen levels
We are past the worst of the tree pollen, and levels will continue to drop between now and mid-May. Grass pollen levels will begin to surge by late spring and early summer.
However, tree pollen is typically the worst allergen for most people.
