CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A person was shot and killed at a gas station in north Charlotte early Thursday morning, police said.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported shooting along West Sugar Creek Road near Reagan Drive around 5:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a person who had been shot. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where they died from their injuries. The victim hasn’t been identified.
WCNC Charlotte’s crew saw a heavy police presence at a Shell gas station with crime scene tape blocking the parking lot. Homicide detectives were called to the scene to collect evidence and search for potential witnesses.
CMPD hasn’t announced any arrests and it’s unclear if detectives have identified a suspect. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
