A WCNC Charlotte viewer captured a fireball erupting from the scene.
LENOIR, N.C. — Crews in Lenoir, North Carolina, responded after propane tanks exploded Tuesday afternoon.
The Lenoir Fire Department told WCNC Charlotte crews responded around 3:14 p.m. to a reported structure fire on Norwood Street Southwest. The tanks that exploded were located behind a food truck and another structure, which was later confirmed to be a restaurant called Taqueria El Tio Rico. The food truck itself wasn’t damaged, but the structure suffered exterior and interior damage.
WCNC Charlotte viewer Meesha Burgess shared video she had captured of the moment the explosion happened. Burgess at the time believed the food truck had caught fire.

No injuries were reported.
The family that owns the restaurant told WCNC Charlotte they’ve had the business for about five years and said they were devastated by the damage to the structure.
Lenoir is located about 87 miles northwest of Charlotte.
