Charlotte shop, Lovingly, is set to deliver over 3,300 bouquets for the holiday weekend.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With Mother’s Day just days away, one local florist is taking flower power to a whole new level as they prepare for one of their busiest weekends of the year.
Lovingly, a florist in South Charlotte, is transforming their shop into what resembles a flower factory as they gear up to send out more than 3,300 bouquets to celebrate mothers across the region.
“Our florists are prideful, and they take Mother’s Day very seriously,” said Nia Fields, head of marketing at Lovingly.
Inside the shop, designers work in assembly-line fashion, each adding their specialized touch to arrangements before they’re wrapped, tagged and organized for delivery. Despite the massive scale of the operation, staff members emphasize that personalization remains at the heart of their business.
“You can talk to a florist and tell them like, ‘Hey, you know my mom loves the disco era. Can you make something themed and sparkly? So, it feels like Studio 54,'” Fields explained. “Our floral designers can take that concept and put together something really nice.”
The staff has been working around the clock to fulfill orders, with employees noting that Mother’s Day presents unique challenges compared to other flower-focused holidays.
“I think what makes it fine, even though it is really hard work, is that you know you’re going to be a part of a special moment for someone,” said Moriah Cockerham, social media community manager at Lovingly.
Unlike Valentine’s Day, which typically sees a concentrated one-day rush, Mother’s Day creates sustained demand throughout the entire week leading up to the holiday.
Lovingly’s staff has expanded their workspace and brought in additional team members to handle the increased volume while maintaining their commitment to quality and personalization for each arrangement.
For last-minute shoppers, the shop is still accepting orders but recommends placing them as soon as possible to ensure delivery before Sunday’s celebration.
Same-day orders are adjusted for the weekend. On Friday, they are cutting off same day orders at 2:30 pm. On Saturday, same-day orders will be cut off at 1:30 p.m. The Sunday cut-off is at 11:30 a.m.
