Police say they are still searching for a mentally disabled Conejos County man after his truck was found stuck near a U.S. Forest Service road in April.
The wife of Rodney Guilinger, 64, contacted law enforcement April 16 when Guilinger failed to return home after he told her he would be scouting hunting areas between La Jara and the New Mexico border, according to a Colorado Bureau of Investigation news release.
She told Conejos County Sheriff’s Office deputies that Guilinger had onset dementia and high blood pressure that had caused him to black out in the past.
His truck was found the next day off of Forest Service Road 380. Search-and-rescue teams have used dogs, drones, aircraft and other resources to look for Guilinger in the month since his disappearance.
He is described as white; 5 feet, 10 inches tall; and 190 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.
Anyone with information about Guilinger’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the sheriff’s office at 719-589-5807.
