SEATTLE — What started as a condom theft from a north Seattle minimart became much more serious when it evolved into an armed robbery involving three teenage boys Monday night.
Around 10 p.m., police were called to a convenience store in the 12200 block of Aurora Avenue North in the Bitter Lake area. Maps of the area show the Aurora Food Mart is located at a Union 76 gas station at 12248 Aurora.
Police said a 16-year-old boy had stolen several boxes of condoms from the store, and as he ran outside, another teen inside a waiting car pointed a gun at the store manager when he followed the thief outside.

The manager called 911, and officers broadcast a description of the teens and their vehicle, which police quickly found.
When officers tried to pull over the car, the driver reversed and intentionally rammed a police car before speeding away, according to Seattle police.
In response, officers quickly stopped the car with a pursuit intervention technique, or PIT maneuver. Three boys, all 16 years old, were arrested.
Three teenage girls, ages 15 and 16, were also in the car. They were detained and later released from the North Precinct.
Inside the car, officers found a loaded shotgun stolen out of Snohomish County. The car was impounded to be processed for evidence.

According to the police report, the boys appeared to be unhappy about how their night turned out.
“All three (suspects) repeatedly kicked their doors, called law officers names and screamed for sustained periods of time. They were also heard at the scene bragging about ‘being out tomorrow,’” the report said.
The teens were booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center for investigation of robbery. Two were also booked for possession of a stolen firearm.
