Columbus, Ohio (WSYX) — An English teacher at Horizon Science Academy has been arrested and charged with sexual battery for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student, according to court documents.
The court documents say that on April 2, a relative discovered a 15-year-old was missing and noticed the car of his teacher, 27-year-old Jamelah Daboubi, parked outside her residence. the resident said they approached the vehicle and witnessed Daboubi jump off the minor’s lap, who was seated in the passenger seat.
Officers who arrived at the scene spoke with the minor, who admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with Daboubi. The minor stated that while in the car, they kissed, Daboubi “grinded on him,” and he touched her breasts and buttocks over her clothing, according to court documents.
The relative took the child to The Center for Family Safety and Healing, where he underwent a forensic interview. During the interview, the minor reiterated the same information.
Authorities processed the minor’s cell phone and discovered text messages between him and Daboubi that corroborated the existence of an inappropriate relationship.

Daboubi will appear in court on May 28.
