“The Real Housewives” will have its first New England-based franchise with the premiere of the new Bravo reality TV series “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island” later this year.
In a slate of programming announcements, Bravo said the franchise “expands into the world of a tight-knit circle of Rhode Islanders who have deep community roots and families that go back generations.”
“With aspirational lives, thriving businesses and tangled family dynamics, these decade-long friendships prove that in a state this small, there’s no escaping your past … or each other,” Bravo added.

In the announcement, Bravo did not specify where in Rhode Island the series will be centered, other than saying it will be “set against the shores of the Ocean State.”
The cable TV network has also not yet named any of the reality TV personalities who will be the eponymous “Housewives” yet.
