KPRC 2 is proud to once again partner with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation to celebrate literacy and to work toward raising strong readers of all ages.

The organization, which is honoring what would have been the late Mrs. Bush’s 100th birthday this year, recently welcomed several best-selling authors to town. We had the privilege of joining them, and now we are bringing their stories to you.

Watch “A Celebration of Reading” at 7 p.m. on May 10 on KPRC 2 and on KPRC 2+.

The 2025 featured authors are:

Kelsey Grammer

Nate Bargatze

H.W. Brands

Victoria Christopher Murray

Katherine Center

The program also features special messages from President George W. Bush and former first lady Mrs. Laura Bush, as well as former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and country music icon Reba McEntire.

You’ll also hear former Chief of Staff for President George H.W. Bush Jean Becker’s interview with Neil Bush and Pierce Bush. The father and son reflect on the legacy of their late mother and grandmother Barbara Bush and the impact she had on their lives.

Commemorative butterfly broaches are available for sale benefitting the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation (Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation)

Visit the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation to learn more about the organization and how you can support its mission.
