“A Memorial Day flyover is more than a display of airpower,” 140th Wing acting deputy commander and U.S. Air Force Col. Christopher Melka said in a news release. “It is a solemn tribute to our fallen heroes, a reminder to our community of the sacrifices made for freedom, and a powerful symbol of our unwavering commitment to honor those who gave all.”
The wing noted in the release that poor weather could cancel the flyovers. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon near Buckley Space Force Base on Memorial Day, according to the National Weather Service.
