As teams round out their regular season schedule, the durability of a roster and players’ endurance levels are put to the test.
Hampshire and Turners Falls wrapped up their final games of the regular season on Wednesday, with both teams entering the postseason in a good run of form.
The Raiders have proven themselves all season long as a true title contender, with just one loss on their record, losing to Wachusett on May 3.
After stumbling earlier in the season with two, one-run losses to Frontier and Hopkins Academy, the Thunder have rounded back into form. They’ve won nine of their last 10 games, scoring 10+ runs in six of those contests.
After suffering their first pair of back-to-back losses since 2019, the Bombers righted the ship last week with three wins in three days. Westfield outscored its opposition 29-3 in that span, a strong sign of the bats getting hot at the right time.
Lenox made short work of its opposition this past week, winning all three games by over 15 runs each. The Millionaires’ unbeaten record speaks for itself, maintaining a level of consistency that few can rival.
Franklin Tech also closed its regular-season slate on Wednesday, capping off a perfect week for the Eagles. Their hard-fought victory over Frontier on May 8 proved how much the team has grown since their 0-2 start, albeit losing to Greenfield and Turners Falls to open the season.
Springfield Central finished its regular season schedule as well on Wednesday, defeating Granby and clinching an undefeated record. The Golden Eagles have torn through their competition all season long, taking 14 wins by more than 10 runs and scoring over 10 runs in 16 of their 18 games played.
